voltage regulator?

    when i bought my 69 cj5 it had the alt swap on the 4cyl. i noticed that the guages work funny. should it have a voltage regulator? i dont even know what they look like. can anyone help me out some? all the lights seem to work just fine.

    It depends on what type of alt. the PO put in. Most people use alt's with
    internal regs. so they dont need to worry with one

    i have an internally regulated alt and what are the 2 wires coming out of it too??? on the alt one side says 1 and the other 2

    the guy i got it from said its a "gm one wire unit". it does indeed have one wire.
