53?

    Found this jeep, tag on dash is stamped 53 along with other military info ? is it a 53

    Dondo These are my good pants..

    Mines a '53. Looks like that one. Not sure how long they made the M38-a1...but I think it was into the 70's.

    No hinged grill though. What does that mean? When did they stop with the hinge?

    Does it still have the data plates on the passenger side? Those usually have the date that they were put into service. That's usually the year model they seem to be given once they are civilians.

    Thinking '54 they quite using the hinges on the grille started using radiator supports and patched the seam on the front fenders.
