Anyone had any luck installing alum. wheels on stock axles without installing longer lugs? Everything is stock. :(

Yes - I used to run them. I'm guessing all aluminum wheels aren't the same though.

I got to the end of the stud with my ren II rims on stock studs. I don't know if I feel safe but Dad says it is fine.

My lugs are even with the outside of the wheel. I could not even start a lug nut on.

my lugs don't stick out far. But mine don't use the standard style nut. Mine the nut goes inside the wheel flange.

Yeah, IIRC, the flange is so thick you have to use nuts that fit down inside the stud holes, and the holes are bigger. All the alum. wheels I ever had came with special nuts for them. I think it also has to do with keeping the soft aluminum flange off of the threads of the studs, plus load bearing, load distribution, etc.
