I think it is about time to replace tires, right now I have 32x11.5 r-15 and I want to go with a 33 inch tire and also either skinnier or wider. With out replacing my rims could I go with say a 12 inch wide or somthing like 9 or 10 just for more availibilty.

My need for this is because I have a tire that keeps on going flat on me and my spare is a 31 inch tire but alot skinnier and holds air about as long as this one.

Would depend on what width wheel you have now...... More info needed. Nickmil

    I want maybe a 33x12 or 12.5 tire or a 33x9 or 10.

That's the TIRE size. Need to know what WHEEL width you currently have as tires of a certain width are recommended to fit certain width wheels. For example, if you have 8 inch width wheels you can get away with a 9.50 to 12.50" width tire. If you have 7" wide wheels then 12.50" wide tires would be too wide for the wheel. Nickmil

Well I just went out and looked on all four of my rims and cant find any refferance to size. Less of me measuring the underside of my the width I wont be able to say for sure. That means I gotta go buy a measuring tape.

I appreciate the offer but I could always need a measuring tape, but I will keep you in mind the next time something else goes wrong with my jeep. lol it seems to be like clock work.

HEH ironicly the new avvy I just put up just happens to be the tire that is going bad on me.

Just for a simple "what it would look like" kinda deal...I have 33 12.50's on a 10 inch rim on my 73 and this is how they fit.

Nice pic Mcgilla, lol it looks like mine when i first bought it, all nice and shiny and black minus the diamond plate though. I just want a bigger tire to sit up just a bit higher and for a meaner look,, I dont even know what ones I want yet. Witch reminds me, I really REALLY need to wash my jeep while I have the top on it, could use bout a gallon of wax to.

I also have 33s. Did use wheel spacers and 15 x 8 steel wheels.

33x10.5s fit on an 8" wheel and tuck nicely under the Jeep.

Drive better than 33x12.5s IMO too.

Well, I may be having to put my tire wants on hold and getting my tire needs going, Apparently it goes down daily, to the rim. luckily I live a stones throw from a compressor i have to use every morning before going to work. On a good side, i filled my spare and am letting it sit to see if it holds air. If it does i can start saving money for the tires and mebbe rims I want. (rims are for if tires I want dont fit the current ones) I really like my basic steel rims.

I've got a 2.5 inch lift and have 33X12.5 on a 10" rim. I have some rubbing problems when in off camber situations...just FYI if your planning to do any off roading.

Yeah...I forgot to mention that....My 33's will rub a little if I really start twisting it up and I have a 4 inch lift.

The PO told me it was a six inch lift, but it is more like 4. The extent of my offroading is in mud pits, I want to get into some more out here once I get my jeep running right. My 32's have never had a problem with rubbing, yet.
