    Hey guys,

I have had the fuel injection on for around 6 months and am very pleased with it. My question is about replacing the fuel pump. It was a used kit when I bought it, but still in good condition. The fuel pump is noisy. Loud enough I can hear it in the Jeep. I have tried to isolate it with more rubber, it came with a bracket and rubber surround, and even disconnected the return line to check it the pressure was backing up. I think the pump is just noisy.

What pump should I look for. The replacement on the AFI site looks kind of cheap. It states that it's over 70psi, but doesn't give a gph number. I have been looking on Summit racing for a replacement and there are too many options.

    Need a little help here,

I did the AFI on my 75 CJ5 last year too. Love it. I also notice the noise of my pump, though I wouldn't describe it as 'noisy' or 'loud'. It 'buzzes' almost full time when it's running, but not SUPER noticeable. Is that the way yours is or is it REALLY loud? I've thought about just carrying a spare with me in case I was every out somewhere and it failed....THAT wouldn't be good!

    Is it TBI or MPFI?

For a TBI pump you can use one off the late 80s early 90s ford vans. I run a Holley 30PSI pump I got through summit racing. Kinda pricy though. But it is quiet.

How many pounds of pressure do I need? How many gallons per hour??? The replacement off the website is 70psi. This is a TBI system with an inline fuel pump.

Does it matter that this system is based off a 1992 4.3 Chevy truck???

TBI only needs 13 PSI. The preasure regulator will bypass any extra fuel.

This is the one that comes with Holly's projection TBI system.
EDIT: The URL did not work. Go to Summit Racing and search for "Holley 12-927"
    Its only 15 PSi and 45 gallons/hour.

Most TBI EFI conversions are based on the 4.3L TBI chevy.

I'm sure the Holley is a nice pump, from a parts availability and reliability standpoint id much rather run a factory pump. i would recommend running a pump thats rated for 45psi at 13psi, over a pump thats rated at 15psi running at 13psi, its overkill but you should see a longer life/ reduced noise.

From a pressure and flow standpoint any of the pumps listed before will work.
