    Just a thought,
I dont have a radio or any luxuries in my Jeep and have a bad habbit of accidently not turning my ignition all the way off. Is there a switch or something I can install that will prevent me from draining my battery? Thanks guys,

Will....You're in luck...there IS a switch that functions as you describe...it's called the ignition switch! Turn it off and your battery won't drain! :) Sorry, I couldn't resist. Was just wondering what would cause you to think about shutting off another switch if you 'forget' to turn off the ignition switch. Does your ignition switch 'stick' so you think you shut it off but it isn't really off? In that case, you might just replace it with one that functions properly.

4WD Hardware sells something by Painless Wiring, called Ignition Hot CirKit Boss. You hook it up to your choice of accessories, and it automatically shuts them off when the ignition is shut off. Of course, you have to shut your ignition completely off for it to work!

yeah haha thanks guys, I know about turning it off all the way. The problem is when the old lady drives it or one of my buddies. They always turn the engine off but if it isnt turned off completely then the dash lights stay on, and during the day its hard to tell if they are on or not. This is my problem. Ill check out those web sites. Thanks

Sounds like a new switch is in order.
Or charge 'em 10 bucks every time you have to jump start it.
If the dash lights are on (which should be the light switch and not the ignition) is there still power to your distributer and coil?

Or how about a real loud dingy bell or obnoxious buzzer?

If you want a total kill switch, Moroso and a couple other companies sell kill switches that will disconnect the battery from the entire vehicle just as if you'd pulled a battery cable. They're required in most forms of racing and available from Summit or Jegs. They're not that expensive, and you can get them with a key to add a little theft protection. There are a lot of options.

seem if simply wiring your dash lights to the acc terminal would solve the problem. My 75 kills everything when turned off. On my early CJ's they are wired so everything except the horn and brake lights are off when the key is turned to the off position.

Seems to me that the fastest, cheapest, and most reliable solution to the problem would be to forbid the offenders to drive the jeep. R)
