Is this a stock oil filter for a ~'64 or an aftermarket add-on? (attached pic)

That is the same oil filter and set up on my 67 cj5. I do not know if it is stock or not.

I think it may be stock. From the searching I have done it appears to be factory. Just not sure when it started being a spin on filter vs. the canister style.

    This is my 65.

and this is from the Crown parts catalog. Parts 1 and 2 are the filter and hoses.

Thanks. I just got the spare motor and liked the spin on but knew there may be a prob if it was an aftermarket and not done right.

my 66 tux has the canister type, could it be that my engine isnt the original. someone out there should know for sure at what serial number or year they switched.

went to the cj3b site to look up f134 serial numbers and my serial # 4j284635 appears to have been built in 1961,so i guess i dont have the original engine. bummer! should i switch to spin on or leave it as is?

My '65 has the orig. engine and has the spin-on filter. I use a Wix 51050 filter.

Makes sense, the Napa # on mine is 1050.

Mines a '56 and I took the oil filter off and capped the port. An old Willys mechanic and restorer told me my style of filter was starving the front bearing for oil. I don't know if the spin on ones are different though.
