Repro bodies

HELP!! Can anyone tell me if fiberglass body tubs are still made for flatties? if so, how good are they? and where can I buy one from?.

 

Hi Mel i havent seen a plastic 2A body for a while i'm sure someone must make one.But why glass steel is so much nicer.

 

Years ago I read about a project for an off-road magazine built by journalist Richard Johnson, the one they built used a repro CJ5 fiberglass tub. I would like to do a similar thing using a flat fender tub. My way of thinking is, drill a few holes in the floor and never have to worry about rust as I plan to keep it outside all year round.

Sure I've seen them someplace in the past, but cant think where:?

 

Malotte still makes one, I think. Mine was made by AJ's but they are out of business now.Rich

Then I did a little further digging and found > www.kentrolinc.com Having never seen either of these products in the flesh, maybe someone on here will be able to give their opinions on the quality of both products and how well parts like the fenders & hood line up.

 

I had a 2 CJ-5's with nice quality bodies (I think they came from 4WD hardware)about 15 years ago R) A friend had a Malot body that was pretty bad (he bought the body new) They may have different bodies though maybe light versions for racing ? something to keep in mind.The body I had was double wall with wood or steel inserts where needed.

 

I know willys overland out of Toledo sells metal bodies complete with the original willys markings, don't know about glass.
