So theres a guy selling two Flatties and a rolling chassies (assuming its a flattie) near my college. Both of the jeeps are supposively running (thats what the sign says, havent actually talked to the guy yet.). The frames look to be in decent condition (about as good as you can get so close to the sea). They both look like their moddified from stock. The sign says he wants $1900 for the lot of them. I only want the red one (the other one is a god awful purplish color) but if he won't sell individually I'll buy the lot (assuming I decide to buy).
Is this a decent price? How low should I try to haggle him?
Any Flattie specific questions I should ask him?
Any general questions I should ask?

Sounds like a fair price. The biggest hidden problem is cracked blocks. But you can't always tell right away. Look for water in oil, oil in water, engine becoming excessively hot after you run it a while. Check for visible cracks above and below where the distributor goes into the block. If everything seems Ok, just get them. Parts are not hard to find anyway.

You could buy the lot, pick the best parts for yourself, then sell the rest. Parts are very easy to come by.

If you have the room then buy them

Most Flatty's are going for more than 1900 any way.
You should be able to recoup your money by selling the spare.
That's assuming the bug doesn't bite you and you become a multiple JEEP owner!

I payed 2k for my sixty in runnable, streetable condition. I still think I got a pretty fair deal, and that was just for one of them.:hurrican::coffee::)

If they have titles, get all you can. Titles as stated above are the hardest thing to come by.
