I recently purchased a 68 CJ5 with the 225 V6. It needs a carb and I'm not sure of all my options for this engine. I know it originaly had a Rochester 2G on it but it was removed before I aquired the jeep. What carb should I be looking for? Stock, Weber, Holley or other? Need some help here.

Stock 2G or Holley TA 470 if you have a 4bbl intake.

I stuck to the stock carb (2G). I have one on the engine and a rebuilt one on the shelf. They are easy to rebuilt and adjust.

Try either placing a WTB ad in the classified section or even eBay. There are several on there now.

The last one I bought was from NAPA, and it had "2-416" on the box. It worked great and looked just like the original. Maybe I was lucky as the NAPA man was mildly surprised that I was happy. Some of their carburetors may not work so well.

    Hey Reddingcj5,

I am also in Redding, and I'm willing to help you with your carb problems. Bring it over and we can get it working. I currently have a spare 2G carb in my bone pile we can try. Regardless, we should connect to discuss Jeeps and go jeeping.
