the only thing i see is that it might slide down over time...... other than that, looks good! Needs paint though... That Hilift has seen some use.

The next time you see it there will be a fresh coat of black on the bar, and orange on the mech and handle.:v6:

Looks great! I've used the muffler clamp method to make removeable trail mirrors for my LJ :)

Consider wing nuts for the bar bolts, so you don't need a tool to get the bar off the mounts.

I welded the hilift mounts to my cage when I fabbed it. Here is a suggestion for the nuts though, I welded a short section of round stock to my nuts so I would not need a wrench and I can tighten them down real tight. I also used spring shackle bushings behind the jack to keep it from rattling.

As for muffler clamps, I used them to mount 30 cal. ammo boxes to the rollcage. I don't have pics handy, I'll post them later.

I'm going to use it for my fire ext also(as soon as I find a mount). It's a simple but great idea. I'd never thought of it but for Mike's thread. Got the wing nuts too. Can't find any decent gloss orange in town. TSC truck comes today, should be some in the Valspar delivery.:v6:

Looks REAL GOOD. I've been thinking about building me a holder for mine. Nice idea.

The muffler clamps were NickMil's idea originally -- but works well either way!

I've been thinking about a way to fabricate LOCKING mounts for my rig. Maybe I'm just being silly but I don't like leaving peripherals unsecured.

...of course I guess the perps could just take the whole jeep????

Thanks to you both. I'll be using it for the fire ext and maybe an air tank in the future. Who knows what else.:v6:
