F head Distributor question

    Its a dust and dirt cover its sealed around the edge. The military used these.
    Grab on to that sucker and pull it off. You don't need it.

    The reason for the metal cover is to keep ignition noise out of the radios. That is why you will see them on military vehicles.

    I am no expert by any means but watching the auctions at Barrett Jackson they commonalty see vehicles converted to electronic ignition. They always say no harm no foul especially if you keep the parts to return it to original. I have never done a Petronics upgrade but I don't think you will see any visual difference from the exterior of the distributor.
