I removed the headers on my 304. The gasket was blown. Do I use a sealant when I install the header gasket? I so, what sealant; Permatex? Thanks!

I removed my headers, and threw them in the trash!

do not use sealer on your header gasket, try the graphite gaskets from felpro i think. The are awesome, about 1/4 thick

All the copper ones I've tried are junk. I hear the Remflex is the best.

Is there a difference between a regular exhaust manifold gasket and a header gasket?

yes there is a difference in gaskets between stock manifolds and headers.

I am finally about to install my edelbrock shorties after cutting off thin leaky nightmare full headers. Header flange quality and surface prep is just a couple key things in keeping a decent header leak free on a V8.
