I recently installed some Hedman headers on the 304 in my 1975 CJ5. When I found I could no longer use a spark plug socket to tighten the plugs because of the headers, I bought a stamped steel spark plug socket that is for lawnmowers and such and is shaped like an hourglass. Worked like a charm.

Good idea! My socket would fit all but some of the plugs, so I had to belt sand the socket wall thickness down, a little.

How do you like the headers?

Got headman headers on my 74 304 and have no issues using my craftsman spark plug sockets. They get stuck some times, but that's what mechanical agitation is for.

you could always cut the flanges off makes life alot easier and no need for that special socket.

I think the special socket is MUCH less work than trimming the flanges.
