My son is wanting a vehicle to restore and I've got my eye on a half cab. I'm more familar with YJ's and JK's and am pretty green on Jeepsters. I may need to put some wheels on this heep to get it home. What's the stock wheel size? Any other words of advice?

225 or 235/15 work well. Words of advice? Patience, in large doses :).

stock tire size i believe is a 235/75/15 at least that's what mine came with back in 1969 when my uncle bought it.

Owner doesn't want to sell. The poor Jeep has been sitting in his backyard for at least 6 years. My son was really disappointed and now I fear I'll never find another in the area.

Check out the Jeepster Commando Club like was stated earlier.

Also Craigshelper or Craigslist can be your friend. I have seen quite a few pop up recently some for decent prices.

Biggest probem for you, or "Us" as any of of us in the South East, or North east is Check for Rust, then check for Rust again, and lastly check for Rust:)

I took me almost 8 months to find my Jeepster, and then I got lucky since it was a Coloardo Jeepster that was being sold by someone that Just relocated to Florida.

Also be prepared to spend $$$$ for parts just not a good supply of Jeepster parts co's out there and you will find your self Fabbing a lot of stuff or having it fabbed or trying to make something work that just won't.

As with any Jeep, especiallythe Jeepster your gonna get what you pay for. The more ya pay usually speaks volumes on the over all condition of the Jeepster. But watch out for people that think there rust bucket is a prize and worth 5 or 6K when its coveredin rust.

    Yea...Patience.
And be picky, but dont pass up a good rusted jeepster that can be used for parts, especially if its cheap.
I have two jeepsters, and have parted out 3 more that were badly rusted just for the spare parts.
