    I decided just to go back with the factory design. Now my question is the 76 and up Lower Power Steering Shaft Coupler Kit the same on my 1974 some sites list them as the same others dont.

    should be the same
    only difference was the shaft diameter and spline count at the steering gear box,
    power vs manual steering.

    I used a power steering gear box from a 78 CJ5 and kept my stock 74 manual steering shaft. Since I had both complete shafts to work with, I took the couplers apart and mixed/matched them together so that the splines would work with the PS box and the shaft connection would work with the manual shaft. Pretty simple to do and took no time at all.
