How can I tell if my '79 CJ5 is a wide or narrow track? Is there something I could measure and were all sway bars made to fit either? I just bought a used sway bar on ebay to try to eliminate alittle body roll issue it has. Hope it works

Unless it was swapped the CJ5 never came with wide track axles. Narrow track measure 53" WMS to WMS (wheel mount surface). The wide track are 3" wider (56").

No idea on the swaybar question.

The sway bars are the same for wide track or narrow track axles.

I got it for $65. I bid on several on ebay, but most got over $100. I think the one I got is 15/16. I don't know if many guys use them, but I hope it helps.

thats the one i used for my setup... http://www.earlycj5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=41739&highlight=sway+bar

the 15/16 bushing is hard to find so i just used th 7/8th one and drilled it a bit to fit.
