I just picked up my new project today. Its a 1970 and I drove it home 50 miles. I had to stop and get a battery along the way, but this thing runs like a top. No real rust on it just a little surface rust. Does anyone make 1/4 panels for the commando?

Welcome to the board, nice looking Commando.

I don't think anyone makes replacement quarterpanels, there is a guy that does some parts...rockers, floor pans....but I can't remember the site.

Found it: http://www.justjeepsters.com/ no quarterpanels though

Yes, welcome from a fellow c101 owner.
It might be easier to find a donor Jeep in a wr.../ er, recycling facility.
Probably cheaper than aftermarket and likely there are some other parts on it you can use.

Looks like a solid rig. I think if you had factory quarter panels those tires would be too big. Lots of guys cut them like yours, so someone may have their leftover pieces available.

Yeah I just think they are cut a little high. Might just have to do some fab work. I think I want to put some TJ rear flares back there.

Solid looking Jeepster, nice to see one that doesn't have the tailgate or the windshield frame rotted out 8). Didn't notice when I was looking at the pictures over at the JCCA but I see it has Ross steering, must be an early 70.

I would say so too, about 450 ahead of my blue one in the SN sequence and as far as I can figure mine is very early 1970 (transitional parts, some like a 69 and some like a 70)

Nice looking J/C...better shape than mine was when I got it. As far as the steering my '71 had Ross steering and was converted to Saginaw by the previous owner, so it may not be as early '70 as you think.

That's not surface rust, it's "patina" :rofl:R) Nice score, even if you have to fab some rear fenders

    trickpatrick Done? LOL

    Congrats on the Jeepster.
The rear fenders are cut out for wrangler stock flares.
Mine looked just like that when I cut them.

The cut is round but the flare isnt.
    Heres a pic.

I bought mine on ebay used for .99 plus shipping.
