    Update

Have not got much done, at work we have been instaling new compressor and vacuum systems at the Indian hospital in San Fidel, NM
Doing the electric and piping during the week and then do the change out on the week end. Got one more weekend to go on Feb 27-28, and it should be completed.

Also I have working on a garage as time permits.
The weather on the weekend her in Rio Rancho, NM hase been great, that is why I have been working on the garage.
It is 8'9' X 14"X 8'9" talland my CJ6 will fit in it. The city of Rio Rancho will not let me build a garge on a slab because I alread have one but thay let me do a portable building.
This is made from a shipping frame/crate from a Mori CNC lathe.
This lathe weighted about 9000# So I think it should hole my CJ6.
The base is made from 2 X4 channel iron and 2 x 4 square tubing, The walls are 1 1/4 tubing and angle iron, braced with flat stock.
As this was made in Japan the spacing did not allow the siding to be put directly to the uprights, so I put on furring strips.
Here is a link to the build'

Did get the tub out of the garage after painting it, here is a picture of it outside.

Hope to get back on the paint work this weekend.

    Update?

I'm In the middle of doing my six now. I'm not shooting for councours correct, just patching up the problem areas. Gotta keep the cost down to pay for the engine work! If mine comes out half as nice as yours, I'll be happy!

    Looks ~smooth~.

As your work progresses it would be very easy to miss your new working companion given his colour.

I have what appears to be the same hardtop for my 1970 CJ5. My question to you is how does your attach to the top of the windshield frame. Mine has a ton of small holese in it where I can only assume the PO screwed it into the frame which does not seem correct to me?

The hard top is held on with 6 screws. Most of mine were striped out so I put in 1/4-20 riv nuts. and button head screws with rubber and steel washer.
Picture of riv nut tools. Some manufactures call it differnt things. It looks lik a pop rivet tool but puts in a threaded insert in the thin sheet medal. [IMG]

Picture of bolt in the top.

That's a really nice setup for the bolts on the windshield frame, might think about doing that for mine.

This was not the cheepest paint I coild find. But thay had every thing I needed.
