71 cj with v6 and rear tank

Met a guy with sweet ecj. all stock v6, tag says 70 title is 71 with rear tank. no seat tank has amc emblem on the back> no kaiser sticker any where.
firewall tag say toledo. any info?

 

Mid year 1969 was the last of the Kaiser Jeeps! So starting mid year of 69 AMC got to put there name on them. Mine was made close to the last of production for Kaiser and they all came out of Canada at that time. Then Kaiser sold to AMC and AMC moved them back to Toledo .

 

You just described my 71 to a T. That is perfectly normal after mid to late 1970

 

Yep, no conflict. Sounds exactly right for a '71.

It should have flanged rear axle shafts, too! '71 was a good year, but who's biased?

 

Yup, I was even born that year. My 71 is the same as you described also.

 

The tag on my 70 says Kaiser. Flanged 44, seat tank.

 

Pete was built Mar '70 and had Kaiser sticker. Also had the AMC emblem on the rear corner.

 

Does anyone have a picture of the AMC emblem on the back. I would like to get one for my 71.

 

It looks just like 26-3776, about 1" square die cast, chromed and pinted.
Sets in the lower left corner of the tailgate when viewed from behind.



Mine has virtually no paint left on it and is mainly chrome after all these years.

 

I have a 70 CJ5 with OEM rear tank. Firewall tag says Kaiser Jeep Toledo. So Kaiser still had the Jeep throught the model year 1970

 

My tag on the firewall says 1970 Kaiser. It came with a rear tank. Toledo Ohio. D27/D44 flanged rear, 225 V6 SM465 with twin stick D18 and tera low gears, 4:88
