V6 trans help??

You also fit a small hole 18 to a T-86 by changing out the T-86 rear bearing retainer for one from a T-90. Can't do that with the T-14. I do agree that a T-14 would be a better choice than the T-86. Synchro'd first gear on the T-14 and easier to find parts for.

That is what I did. Have the T-90 with T-90J input shaft. The T-86AA adapter to V6-225 bell-housing had to be re-drilled to accept the T-90 bolt pattern. Then the T-86AA rear bearing adapter was installed on the T-90 to fit the 4" hole D-18 which came with the T-86AA. Not a real big problem.

 

The Muncie SM420 4 speed with 7.05:1 first gear is a great match behind the 225. I've got one with the Advance Adapter for the Model 18 transfer case for sale. The tranny's been rebuilt and adapter is new so it should be the last tranny your rig would ever need. It was never installed it due to health problems.
