looks like a t-90 bearing retainer. Can't say about the bolt pattern of the BH though.

Looks like a Trans-Dapt to me for a T90 to unknown engine.
The steel bearing retainer and the sealed adapter are just like some Trans-dapt stuff that I have.

m38Willys, when you say here's one for sure, do you mean the flathead or the diesel?

The buick 198 bellhousing is what I was referring to in that thread. I have/had one in Florida in a barn but couldn't remember what it looked like. Just wanted to be sure. The pic DanStew posted is of a similar round BH pattern and that's what I was comparing.

guys, had to register when I was looking for info and saw my pics 'from another forum' on here. I took this pic when I rebuilt my T90. the little 3A has a gm 307 in it. now whether its a chevy or a BOP Im not real sure. when I pulled the BH/T90/D18, I really didnt pay too much attention to what was going on with the back of the motor. I think that its probably got another adapter plate in there somewhere. its all coming back home in a month or so from my farm to get a 90 chevy TBI motor, so we'll see then what it really is. if I cant reuse it, I'll post it up for sale, and info for it will be appreciated.

If its a Trans-Dapt product it will likely have the prefix TD followed by a part number embossed onto the casting.

I'll have to look at the one I've got on the shelf. Came out of a 2A with a '56 Chevy 265 V8 in it. IIRC, mine had the same round pattern on it also. I'll have to look for ID marks on it.

dude, I think you may be the Man of the Year if you can tell me this is in fact for a chevy and not a BOP motor. the motor that its mated to has one chevrolet valve cover and the other is plain, so Im not real sure what it is, but Im dang sure the 5.7 TBI motor thats going back in is a chevy!

just how in the world does it bolt to a chevy with that raised lip just inside the round pattern?!!

in fact it does mate to a T90 willys 3 speed.

I may be wrong, but I think I recall that early SBCs that were hooked up to cast iron powerglides had a cast iron adapter that might interface between that bellhousing and the back of a SBC?

Oh. that doesn't look like I remember the Perkins bellhousing that I had. I looked, but don't think I have any pictures of it anymore. Back in the late 90s I traded for a GPW that had a Perkins in it that supposedly was originally in a CJ6. The CJ6 had been in an underground mine and the engine outlasted the rest of the Jeep so they put it in the GPW...It had a bad injector pump when I got it. I could justify the expense of fixing it so I pulled it and sold it on ebay to a guy in PA.

Ok, dug it out. Vanguard, you can use the pics posted in the first post. It IS a SBC to T-90 adapter. The one posted is exactly the same as mine, and mine was between the early SBC(1956 265ci) and a T-90. IIRC, there was an iron "ring" around the b/h, which I didn't get. I may be able to find it if my BIL didn't junk it. No markings on the adapter, but the retainer is marked GM 5 with the p/n 591620. Hope this helps:beer:
