is there any sort of residual pressure valve on the stock single reservoir MC on a 55' CJ5? I've already done a disc swap on my 68' Jeepster, and before I did this one, I wanted to make sure there wasn't a 10 lb valve somewhere internally....or hidden somewhere before I proceed. I don't see anything on the new MC I installed...just curious from others who have done early CJ's like this one if there's anything I haven't already encountered on my Jeepster that I need to know. Everything on it went pretty much according to plan.

My 60 and 65 didn't have one. Just a four way up front and a tee in the rear

My '56 had a screen in the plunger assembly. When I completed the swap my calipers wouldn't release 100%. I bled and bled and all 4 had drag. I took the MC apart and removed the screen. It had a bunch of larger holes in it and wasn't like a typical screen. That solved the problem. Been working fine for over 10 yrs.

The residual pressure valve is typically in the master cylinder behind the seat the metal brake line seals against. You remove the line, remove the seat, remove the valve, reinstall the seat, reinstall the line, bleed the brakes.

Nick, my MC is new....it's bolted up but no line is hooked up yet. I went with the original unit. Is there a valve in front right where the banjo bolt goes in?
