I have searched the archives for the heater that someone placed on the outside of the firewall once and I cannot for the life of me find the pics.. It was ( I think) a mohave that he placed the core on the outside of the firewall and the controls, and original vents inside, (were original). I do not want to cut ANOTHER hole in the firewall.. I remember he mounted it with the vents on the inside with one vent going to the windshield and the other to the floor.. BTW how can I place a snow plow on the same mount that I have for a towed rig? I can spend the money (300.00 to 400.00) I have a boxed bumper on the front. I work for a hospital and do not want tobe absent again..

on the plow question you could put the plow mount on and then adapt the towbar to the plow mount.

Typical Meyer plow upper mount sits on top of the frame rail behind the bumper. Lower mounts go from frame, under front axle and angle back up to the frame. Shouldn't effect your towbar any. Get a 12v heater like this:http://safetycentral.com/12volcarheat.html if you are just needing emergency defroster action. Not great, but it'll work in a pinch.

My Jeep didn't have a heater when I bought it. I found one from Heater Craft and used that. It doesn't have vents but with a soft top it doesn't matter. It blows air from inside. The unit itself was mounted right behind the battery. I don't have pics of it now but can get some if you want.

Thanks for the replys guys. I just got back. Ill just cut the tow mounts off and mount a plow mount. Go figure that six inches of snow in the Atl. area shuts it down for about 4 days. Not a good thing. If I have to I'll plow my way to work, I will.. I'll check the links for the heaters. I'm pretty handy and as long as I don't have to deal the large hole in the firewall letting cold air in, and some source of heat I can bundle up. If I have to cut a water heater in half, that will be no problem if I can't find the parts. Again, thanks.
