I have done a lot of searching, and about all I have found is that I have to remove the interlock pin (I think its called the pill?) and then that allows me to use 2WD low. I have separated the shifter part of the TC from the TC itself by tge 3-4 inches it allows you to without dismantling the whole thing, but still cant see the interlock pin.

I have also taken out the two balls on either side of the levers after reading the pin should drop out of those hole, but I had no such luck

So, is there a way I can remove this pin without taking the TC anymore apart?
    whats the trick?

    Thanksss!

The pill sits in the hole where you removed the springs and balls. It sits between the shift rods. If the shift rods are out, the pill can be shoved out easily with a pencil or anything that fits in the hole.

Like mcruff said, at least one shift rail must be removed to access. A small magnet can help also

There isn't a really easy way to do it. I suspect they made it difficult to get to because there's an obscene amount of power going to the rear in 2-low and snapping an axle is actually easy. You can use 2-low without modification by shifting into 4WD with the front hubs in free until you need to rebuild the tranfer case. And yes, it's terribly convienient to have 2-low when you finally get it.

Yeahh, understandable. I dont have locking hubs, but have a Dana 44 rear so the little that I would use it in two low shouldnt hurt it. if it is too hard Ill just forget it, but while I had it out I thought I would try.

Throttle to brain ratio. Don’t stand on the throttle while side stepping the clutch and you’ll probably be fine. I’ve been running mine this way for several years without an issue.
