Any possible problem with having the vacuum line that was supposed to go to my wiper disconnected? Do I need to permanently plug hole?

Upon my just now inspection, the vacuum line that was supposed to go to the wiper is open, to my chagrin. I thought that it was plugged. Could this cause problems with fuel output at high rpm or speed?

    jpflat2a what's that noise?

Assuming you have a double diaphragm pump....
Shouldn't affect the fuel side of the pump unless something amiss with the pump.
I would plug or repair the line for no other reason than keeping debris out.
Shouldn't affect engine performance (vac leak) as it's not actual engine vac that's leaking (mechanically produced vac).

I just kind of thought that if the pump was creating vacuum, and there was no "wall" so to speak in the form of the blocked line, there would be endless air and no push... Don't really know how to put that into better words. Are you saying that the fuel pump is mechanical, spins, pushes fuel, and as a byproduct, creates vacuum.

if dual action/diaphragm pump, one side pumps fuel, the other creates vac/suction for wipers.

How do I find out if this is a dual action diaphragm pump?

the dual pump (vacuum and fuel) will have two intake lines and two output lines.

The vacuum pump pumps a higher pressure than the fuel pump does if you get the two mixed up.

doesn't change a bit plugged or not... :(
