      my first f-head engine locked up, i took it to a machine shop to have it redone and found out it would be a little over $1200 to get it rebuilt. but luckily they had one freshly rebuilt that had been sitting there for 22 years for 700 dollars, i jewed him down to 600 :). though it did need to be put together, which i am doing right now. the head has been put on and the tappets are set. hopefully everything will be set just so perfectly that when i put it in my jeep and rewire it, itll crank right up!
