It’s gotta be hella close to the NT D30. Within an inch or so I’d guess.
I always figured that front would make for a hot swap candidate.
If I were going to get a diff cover, I’d opt for one with a drain in the cover. I have a RR one on my NT30 that is beefy and has a drain.
I agree. I think getting a I6 in a 71- CJ5 will be major surgery (cross member and steering at least). Love the engines but it’s just a matter of...
Finally found a 2.5L that was sanely priced. How are your projects going?
Yeah I did it the “right way”. Custom vin. All run through Madison and state pd. It can be done right, but it takes forever. Very much worth it in...
I did quite a bit to it. Highest speed I’ve had it to is prolly 70-75 mph.
Some of the other threads in here have pics of mine.
So I’ve been driving the Rox as my DD for about a year and clocked about 5500 miles on it since May 2020. I gotta say, this thing is everything I...
That’s what I was thinking oldtime, it’s likely the outer bearing. Perhaps the race was a little chewy when it went on. If so it’ll be a bear to...
Where did you find one for $80?
I’d check your grounds first.
Do you have the windshield that goes with it?
That is a standard Chevy bellhousing, so likely is the 80-83 GM 2.5L engine from a Jeep.
I find setup bearings useful. If your old ones are still decent you can make them into setups.
I also really like my clamshell bearing puller.
This stood out to me as well. I have a LHead generator. I might have to crack it in half. I have not to date noticed a difference.
A SBC adapted Jeep trans (T90, T15, etc) can use a 1985 S10 bell housing to get there. Some good info here:
Adapting the AMC 2.5L (150cid)...
good luck on the project
and more EFI options if one were inclined, due to even fire..
FWD ones are great engines as well but gm metric pattern.
Unless you have a very odd build (lots of rear weight or something) or you plan to flat tow often, I’m just not sold on FF for an application this...
