Do you know the diameter of that spacer or what you used to make it?

I bought it off eBay. The neck was 2 1/8” inside diameter by 1 1/2” high. It’s made of aluminum. Focker has a great thread about the 2G carb spacer, with measurements too.

I used this one from dayco. It has a molded 45’. Worked great just had to cut down 1” on the short end and it worked great. Had a normal piece of heater hose but was really kinked. So this was plan B. Much happier with this.

was able to pick up a commando rear bumper. It’s roughly 6 inches longer the front bumper I have. So I’m going to cut off 3 inches off each side. And go from there.

Somewhere on this forum there are dimensioned drawings of the "Z" brackets you'll need to offset it. If you can't find them lmk and I'll measure mine for you.

If you could measure the length of the bracket as if the bracket was flat, that would be great. And then depth from the crossmember to the mounting point on the back of the bumper.

rough cut the commando bumper this weekend. Once I have the brackets bolted to the back of the bumper, I’ll cut and round the edges. FE974E45-AAA9-47E8-9B0B-C5EC616CABCB.jpeg
Before I cut the bumper I felt like it had way too big of a crown in it. But after cutting down the sides, I laid it over the front bumper and it’s pretty spot on. It’s not exact, but it’s good enough for the girls I date hahaha. E5D99DF4-CDC7-46D7-B931-E4DCA8EF018C.jpeg
just resting the bumper on the back crossmember, I’m pretty happy with it. Think it will be sweet.

was able to get the old stickers off the bumper too. Little wins. Trying to do something everyday on it.

That's how you get there. All these little things add up to a really nice rig.

Great strategy...especially it what you are doing is additive and you're not taking apart one thing per day!

I made some rough measurements on the brackets for you but I need to take the bumper off and double check them and don't want to wake the baby so I'll get them and a drawing to you after work today.

Here's the ROUGH dimensions. I will update this afternoon once I get the Bumper off...this is just eyeballing a tape over it.

(I swear someone else did this and I've seen a dimensioned drawing of these on this site but I searched and couldn't find it....)

Brian I got my bumper off as I took it to ABC in Sparks for a repair estimate (more on that in the chrome thread...) and I took some pics of the brackets with a tape for actual measurements for you.

Man I love those tires. I had a 66 scout back in high school running that exact pattern (they were recaps). They worked super well in the mud. Would chew down through the top slop, grab hardpan, and lurch forward.
My CJ came with a set of XT Commando's which also ran that pattern only much wider. I ran those bias ply's to the chords before replacing them.

started fresh and made a new plate.

used 16 gauge cause it was all I had. I’ll worry about a shift boot setup later.

The front and rear Tux bumpers are exactly the same, so you can use the front as an example to get the correct taper on the cut ends. Your front bumper looks to be pushed flatter than original. The Jeepster rear bumper fastens on much different bolt centers, so once again, use the front bumper to get the correct Tux spacing. The z bars space the rear bumper a bit further (couple inches) off the body than where you have yours positioned.
I have a cut down rear jeepster bumper (rusted from the inside-out) on the front of my CJ5. It looks the part.
