I want to pull the TB to clean it out good. Specifically the IAC but the rest could use a good cleaning. Is the gasket reusable or should I have a new one on hand?

Its an 06 LJ 4.0 if it matters.

I personally wouldn't chance it, if you can get your hands on a gasket before you remove it.
FWIW, you can do a pretty thorough cleaning of the TB and IAC port with it in place.

    Thanks Patrick,

I picked one up at lunch today. On my Durango it used an rubber O-ring instead of a gasket and it could easily be reused.

I re-used mine when I cleaned everything out a year ago or so while trying to fix an idle problem (cleaning the TB and the sensors did the trick!) I actually forget if it was a gasket or an O ring, but whatever it was I re-used it.

I figure nothing really but air is coming through the throttle body, since the fuel rails are farther down stream. Figured there would be no harm in reusing it if it's not falling apart. A new one is probably cheap enough though, certainly no harm in replacing it.

Just finished up. The new gasket was only $1.50 at O'Reilly's. Hopefully it will fix the rough idle I have been having. I have already replaced the plugs as it was time for them. And that helped a bit. When I started it up after finishing the idle was rock solid.

The TB was nasty. I am glad I decided to remove it for cleaning.

After a few days of driving it was defiantely time to clean the TB. The throttle response is much better and the idle is rock solid now.

The TB and especially the IAC port seems to be fairy sensitive to being dirty on these. Glad it worked!
