Well, a guy offered me a 92 cherokee he has cause he wants it gone. it runs and moves and all, just has some holes in the floor. he started off at 850, i ignored it and now a week later he said 600, big difference. u guys think i should jump in on it? i dont really need it so i'd probably just fix it up and sell it or maybe keep it, idk. what do u guys think? is it worth it? paint is in decent shape, no body rust except the floors. clear coat is fading in some spots though.

if he's selling so cheap I wonder whats wrong with it.

my personal opinion is pass, that is $600 that can go into the 3b. Its a gamble on whether or not you can sell it.
Holes in floor makes me think, how good is suspension on that thing. I know your on the east coast soo I don't know.
If he dropped to 600 I wonder if he would go lower like say 200-300.

2-300 is less than scrap value. 600 for a running, driving 4x4 is good but, if the floors are bad, you've some time and energy in that repair. And, resale, might get you around 1500-1800. Supposing there is nothing else wrong with it, you might be able to turn a buck or two. Not really worth it in my mind. Problem is, most folks are wanting the '95 and newer Cherokees, now days. I believe the marketability of a '92 with 147k on the ticker is, modest. Even buying it for scrap value and parting it out may not be worth it. Most of the parts on it are common and not really sought after, unless there are aftermarket goodies. My .02.

i dont know what they're worth, i dont really need it, i was more looking to see what they're worth value wise. i think you guys are right with this, i'll steer away, just happened to come across me, i wasn't looking for it. looking more on CL they only go for 1200 in good shape, he said it need battery and alternator but he can jump it. I'll keep the money for the 3b, Good call Piffey.

Deals seem to come around often when you already have a rig or two in the works. It's tempting... but the usual end result is you end up with 7 Jeeps that all need some level of work, and you've depleted your ability to do justice to any of them.
Stay focused on what you have, or sell what you have before taking on something else...

    Ya, from experience... ;)

Yep more projects means less time on each, but if it were me I would get it simply for the donor 4.0 motor/wiring harness/computer to put into my intermediate rig! Good way to go fuel injected. But that creates another project.

I recently sold off 2 Jeeps that were languishing in the wings. Both were FSJ's tho ;)
