I have flow tech red hot mufflers, on the jeep.

They have a great real sound, but are just a smidge to loud.

What kind off header muffler do you guys run and what do they look like , and how do they sound.

and has anyone here ever run super traps?

It has a big block in it, .618 lift, 286 dur, 108 lsa cam in it.

It has 70 degrees of valve overlap, so it has a rough idle

My goal is to make it about as quiet as the 225 v6 that was in it.

But i dont want to hang, big wide flat oval dual/multi chamber mufflers, off the end of the headers.

And I have not a lot of room under the jeep for regular style undercarriage dual exhaust.

Do they make round multi chamber header mufflers?

I run super traps on my rigs. Being tune-able - you just change the disks to get the sound level you want.

What size inlet are your super traps? and how do they sound? i have only heard bikes, and turbo 4s and 6 cylinder, how do they sound on a rough idle oddfire 225 and a V8?

I have always wanted to try them , how long are yours?

They come in many sizes http://www.summitracing.com/search/...e/mufflers?tw=supertra&sw=SuperTrapp Mufflers

I will have to measure mine - 2.25 inlet sticks in my head and I have a set of the long stainless and short black. Both sound real nice with a throaty sound. They are basically glass packs with a tune able muffler addition you can put on the ends. They seem expensive, till you realize that's all you need. Header to them and that's it - no turns or much in the way of other pipe (I have just enough to allow for the O2 sensor for the EFI I run on them).

On my '79 CJ5 I used Jones Turbo Tubes. They are glass pack size and appearance but are of a turbo muffler construction. I have Flotech headers and used summits ball joint to connect to the header without gaskets. MUCH quieter than the glasspacks but as easily packaged. FWIW, with header mount mufflers and almost no tail pipe, nothing is going to be "quiet", but the Jones are very mild cruising and sound killer getting on it. Here is a link:
