Hello all. Here's the situation. I realize that the rear driveshaft doesn't have much slip travel when the vehicle is unloaded, maybe only about 1/8", if that much. I need to jack up the vehicle from the frame to give it enough clearance to get it into the diff yoke. Not really sure what the PO pieced together, but it has me wondering. How much slip travel should there be when installing the shaft? Thanks

You shouldn't have to jack the vehicle up to install them. Mine I can remove with the Jeep on the ground. As for slip length? When I had one made I just measure center of u joint to center of u joint.

It is for sure too long, if you have to jack it up to remove it. Very hard on tcase and pinion bearings under full compression.
