Hello all. Are there any issues to deal with when installing the OD with out dropping the Trans/TC? Not in the mood to drop it all if I don't need to. I'm talking about any fabricating that might need to be done where having everything out would make the job easier.
    Thanks

Should just be a bolt on, no need to drop anything at all . Some are a little tight getting the shaft to slip into the bowl gear, may take some "persuasion". Depending on things you may need to pull the tranny cover to install the shifter.

I had to pull the floor pan to install my shifter assembly. No need to remove transmission and transfer case.

JB Custom Fabrication is local to me. He's a Bronco guy builds fancy Broncos and fabricates parts for others to do the same. I been to his shop its a nice clean well organized family business when I was there is wife way sanding out a skim coat on a Bronco they were building for someone. I bought one of the 3 hole boots but ended up not using it on my 2A build.

Oh yeah- a good set of snap ring pliers will really help things along when installing the bowl gear onto the tranny output shaft.

That job is a lot easier with the trans on a workbench, but it CAN be done in the Jeep.

Pulled mine out a couple of times in the Jeep. Freaked me out a little getting the drive nut to 120 ft. lb. The whole Jeep was complaining!

Thanks for the replies....just wanted to get the second opinion.....because you know how a seemingly easy job can go south without a bit of "old school" knowledge to keep things straight.
    Thanks again.....happy jeeping
