This is another 3D Printer project but it will take a lot of time and a little research.

I've had this mess on my floorboards for about a decade now. 85 chevy heater core, fan and motor all shoved together with a grill and shroud.

It is a great little package that puts out a good deal of heat but it is ugly and doesn't mount to anything. What I'll try to do here is gather the part numbers for the heater core, fan and motor. Then I want to repackage everything to fit here on the passenger toeboard up to be level with the bottom of the dashboard. (I want to box off the dash for better security)

The goal being a cheap heater with easy to find and replaceable components.

That looks like a really cool project. Other than the diy aspect, you might be time and money ahead to just buy a Mojave heater?

    DIY is fun.
Mojave certainly is a viable option and it will get you a proven product quickly.

But I'm hoping to have something that looks like it belongs there and allows someone to go to the pick n pull for most of the guts and be much cheaper.
I'm thinking once proven I can post the plans and part file online so there isn't even shipping or waiting on just me to print it.

Found some part numbers I used for my initial auxiliary heater:

    Blower motor: VDO PM105
    Blower wheel: VDO BW9303

Also managed to rough out a heater housing on the old computer looks like It will barely fit on an ender3. Lots more work to go before it is a printable model but I don't see any obstacles other than time.

I dont have any photos but I made a heater for an old cj2a I owned once. I had a under dash aftermarket AC unit with a double cage-3 speed blower built into the back of the unit.
Mounted it along the bottom of the dash just like it was intended to be installed for an AC unit. The evaporator coil of the unit is much better quality, built for much higher pressure than a regular heater core. I simlpy adapted the inlet and outlet to attach my 5/8 heater hose. never ran the blower on high would run you out. I did install one of those valves in the hose so regulate colant flow to keep it moderated a bit.

This project won't it's limited by my printer size capabilities and I just want a generic heater that will look finished and appeal to a wider group.

if you can sell them, you may be able to get a bigger printer, allowing for larger prints.

Here is where I'm currently at. Still a lot of work before it is ready to print

    Heater housing model:

The motor will mount to the rear face and extend out another 3" or so. I'll pattern a grill separately as that will likely be too much for the pc.

Is this going to fit on a 200x200 bed?

    Currently the model is 135mm x 185mm x 234mm
It will need to fit on my Ender3 with the glass bed. The heater core alone is about 232mm so I'm looking at trimming the ends off and having those be the mounting brackets and give some outlet options. I want to also have a removable grill for various patterns but also allow a ducted inlet option in the future.
