    Good morning everybody!

Before I got ahold of my little firefly, I was looking at a 1970 v6 cj for sale online.
It was advertised as having an overdrive and PTO winch. Of the few photos I saw, I could only see the trans shift lever and the TC shift lever. What I did notice was that it had a “selector” on the trans shift lever (like a split differential on a big truck). It sold before I could get more pics but I was wondering if maybe the PTO lever was between the seats and the “selector” was for the OD?

Anybody seen a setup like this? Would a selector like that work for an OD?

    Thanks,
    Andy

If it were a Rancho, it's possible; it was electrically operated.

I “believe” it was advertised as a Warn overdrive but that was months ago.

There's not enough driveshaft length for a Rancho in a CJ5 due to the length of the rear extension housing with this type overdrive. They can be used on a Willys Wagon or CJ6.
I've seen a couple Jeeps advertised with Warn overdrives, but no shift lever installed. The overdrive was there in place, but obviously not functional. On the flip-side, a Wagon I bought had the Warn shift lever and knob, but no overdrive unit on back of the transfercase.
Warn overdrives use a mechanical linkage for engaging/disengauging, so a switch on the shift lever likely was for something else.
