This came on a Dauntless I bought that had a non-standard transmission adapted to it. Is this what you call a BOP bellhousing? It looks like it I from the pictures I've seen but I'm no expert. Is this what a CJ5 with a T14 or T86 would have come with from the factory?
    Thanks,
    Ken
PS disregard the homemade overdrive shifter pivot point

It’s a BOP that was intended for 4 speeds I believe.
It’s not what Jeep used , but it should work if the transmission bolt pattern fits your need.
V-6 Jeep used the BOP 9774035 prior to their own design in 1970.
The exact part number should be on a small flat edge somewhere near the release fork access.

Thanks for the reply. I was unable to locate any part numbers on it. Does it look like it would work with the Jeep 3 speeds? I don't have any disassembled parts to compare it to.

It will require an adapter plate to fit any of the Jeep Borg Warner 3 speeds.
    T90 J will need a 2-5/8” thick adapter plate.
T86 and T14 will require a different 2-5/8” thick adapter plate.
T-15 will require a 1-5/8” thick adapter plate with same bolt pattern as T86/T14.
Looks to me like few of any of the existing holes will be close.
And I don’t think the holes line up well for the Borg Warner 4 speeds either.

I fully expect the existing holes are Synchro Mesh patterns. And not sure without measuring but I believe this bell was intended for the SM 4 speeds.

For part numbers look for small stamping on a small flat area near the parts foreword edge near the
    release lever opening.

The diameter of the bearing retainer hole should offer a clue. The SM 465 front bearing retainer measures 5-1/8”, (larger than most). The bolt pattern does look like my SM465s. If it is, I’d be interested in buying it, or possibly a swap. My 225 has a new bellhousing on it that the prior owner told me was for a T-18, but I won’t be able to verify that until another three feet of snow melts from around the tent it’s in.

Looking at it more closely, I think that bell housing has a couple extra holes in it.

Thanks for all the replies. This was mated to my adapted Ford toploader which I sold. I was trying to determine if this bellhousing had ought to go with the transmission or if it was a standard Jeep bellhousing. The transmission has extra holes drilled in it and I didn't know if they were to match a Jeep transmission bolt pattern. It sounds like I should give it to the transmission buyer to make sure he has a bellhousing that will work.

The GM bolt pattern should work with a Factory t14 or T86 adapter. It's functionally the same as the Bellhousing Jeep used but with an additional Ford bolt pattern.

The Ford bolt pattern was added when the Saginaw transmission plant was damaged in a fire back in the late '60's/early '70's and GM was sourcing primarily 3 speed Ford toploaders and putting them in Buicks, Pontiacs, and maybe Oldsmobiles. That bellhousing is primarily Buick as many/most Pontiacs and Oldsmobiles have the starter on the driver side. That's why some later bellhousings have starter pockets on both sides.
As said above, the GM pattern is standard car and SM-420 bolt pattern.
I would recommend sending the bellhousing with the toploader so the purchaser has everything they need.
