T18 Shift Fork ?

My apology if this subject has already been posted in a previous thread. If so, please point me in that direction.

Starting to work on rebuilding my transmission. I have only driven the jeep about 10 miles. Besides all the oil leaks, it sounded good only issue I noted was that it took a really hard pull to get it to shift into 4th gear.

Looking at the shift forks, I found one side of the third and fourth gear shift worn on the inside. I assume this would be caused by somebody driving with their hand resting on the shift cane.



The opposite side looks satisfactory.



The plastic covering is in rough shape, requiring the fork to travel further to compensate for the lack of material on the fork's face. However, the metal fork faces look satisfactory.

Any thoughts?

Are OE forks still available?

 

It appears that the arm may have been bent not allowing an even pull on the shift fork for engagement.
don't know about availability, but I believe the T-18 and T-98 use the same fork. Correct me if I am wrong
as my T-18 said T98 on the shift cover.
