Tera Low

Help,
Looks like I have made a mistake. Surely there's some kind of fix.
I am building a d20 tcase for my 73 using Tera Low gearing. All good until I removed the existing case and took off the SM 465 trans output gear and realized it was a 10 spline. Herm informs me that he doesn't offer a 10 spline trans output gear. The new case is built and ready to install. I waited until it was built, before pulling off the original.

Anyone know where I might find such a gear?
AA says they only offer gearing for the D18, not the D20

I wonder if there could be a 10 to 6 spline Spud shaft of sorts.
How fresh is the sm465? Would it be of value to change it to 6 spline?

 

Not familiar with SM465.
The Novak site indicates they came with 10 or 32 spline output.
I though that jpet used to at one time have a Tera Low D20 mated to his SM465 ???

 

Novak sells adapter kits for SM465 to Dana 20 with either 6 or 10 spline output. I wonder if they would sell you the shaft by itself?

I talked to Jeff at Novak, and the 6 spline shaft is available separately. I built the 465 with a Novak kit just 3-4 yrs ago. I surely wasn't planning on pulling it and starting over.
But its doable.

Those are from the factory. The 10 spline used a spud shaft with a long adapter to mate to the NP205 and in some rare instances the NP203. The 32 spline afaik were all 2 wd versions. To anything else they had to have a custom adapter with spud shaft (early versions) or custom mainshaft and adapter.

 

Got some parts from Novak, and had a little time.

SM465 with a 6 spline output shaft, and a D20 with Tera Low gearing. Should be about ready to mate to the 360.
I won't forget about the 6 vs 10 spline.

 

Been down with the dreaded virus, so its been a while since I accomplished anything. I finally got this horribly heavy monster shoehorned back in where it goes yesterday after work. Its heavy and I'm not as young as I would like to be so it took a while. Just snugged up for now. Hopefully finish that part tomorrow after work. Rear axle is gone to a local shop to install the fresh 3.73 gears and the Elocker. Spring is comin and I want to ride this thing.
