Nice! The new place just keeps getting better.
Being able to get under a vehicle without laying on your back is amazing.

Oh, and that is a seriously big propane tank for the grill. Let's see...a new lift, a pool and enough propane for a major cookout...when is the party ?
    :D

I built my shop with the intent of installing a lift.. Made the floor 10" thick etc.. Just have not had the cash to pull the trigger yet.

I would sure love a lift. Didn't make the ceiling high enough though.
May look for a lift to not go too high. Just for welding and brakes and such.

Yes Sir....... In my old Shop , I had the ' Pit '. It was great for Drive train, exhaust work , oil changes, & anything underneath . The challenge was with any wheel work. As I got older......It really became a chore for that stuff. Alas, No Mas......

Wish I was closer, I could bring the skidsteer and pallet forks. I think you are about 6-7 hours from us. The NC. DOT hates me anyway. Every time I go there with the truck they find something to fine me for.

If we lived closer, instead of a "barn raising", we could get together and have a shop outfitting. I always think if we could get together and help work on each other's Jeeps how much we could all get done.

Just another thought. If you don't already have a plan hiring someone to set it or you. You might rent a skidsteer with pallet forks for a day. Would probably be easier and cheaper than finding a forklift for rent. Most rental company's will deliver and pickup your machine. Also you might keep watch around your neighborhood for a on going and nearby construction project where there are forklifts/skidsteers on site, someone would like to come by and move it or you for a few bucks while it is handy for them. I keep a couple of 25 dollar gift cards on hand for local restaurant's just for such occasions just for an added tip for these guys. When I did construction work I often would have next door neighbors at construction sites come by and say "while your here with your machine would you mind coming over and" Picked up extra 30 minuite jobs every week.

Thanks for your thoughtfulness...... My Brother's - in - Arms. My Cousin , here in Lexington , has a skidsteer with forks. Me & my Friend John started sheathing the walls & electrical work today, so after that's done , hopefully arrange her equipment to a 'Sleep Over ' next week...... (y)

BTW Dave...... We're all but 110 miles NW from y'all. Perhaps sooner than later ?

Might be a bit too much weight on the front axle and springs, with all the leverage the pole boom would put on your front suspension. Might bend your front axle or springs/mounts. 1400 pounds is a lot out on a pole say 4 feet away from your front bumper. at best you would need a lot of counter weight in the back of your jeep to keep your rear wheels on the ground.
Anyone around have a farm tractor with a pole boom? Fairly common around here.
