Dang old age, guess this calls for a Turbo build.

I thought the industrial version was 75hp but didn't realize the auto heads weren't much better.

I'm also really bias to the tune of 6cyls.

    Ummmm.......
During the big Trans Am racing era Dodge cars never even won a race. It was 2014 before Dodge managed to win a Trans AM championship.
If you watch the chase scene from the 1968 movie Bullitt you can see just how poorly the suspension worked on Dodge/Plymouth platform when turning left and right.

At about 9:30 into this video you can see shat was wrong with the front suspension. They replaced the front coil overs with the correct length and he was happy with the ride quality.

If your going to fancy up the front, you really should go all the way and fancy up the rear to match.
Do not use 6 piston calipers if you plan to stick with vacuum assisted brakes, you will be disappointed. Stick with 4 piston calipers and it should stop just fine.

So you’re saying no power booster, maybe just a good wilwood master cylinder with 4 piston calipers?

I'm saying 4 piston calipers with vacuum assist power brakes.
If you want to go with 6 piston calipers then you will not see any benefit from the bigger calipers unless you go with hydroboost power brakes.
You could probably get by with 4 piston calipers and non power brakes with a manual transmission.
If you go with a automatic transmission you are definitely going to want to go with vacuum power brakes.

Well let's see: obviously removed the front fenders, grill/valance, steering column, driveshaft, wiper motor, MC, pretty easy day. All the bolts are unscrewing amazingly easy/not terribly rusty. May figure how to fabricate a dolly to lower the entire engine/trans/K member down onto~ I'll be looking at that soon;)

ON the FB Dart site, a fella on there posted the pic of his engine~ this I'd like to accomplish;) Not so sure about the Snipper? carburetor? As for a brake booster, most say they don't need a booster, with the proper calipers that is and MC.

Future reference: want to figure out what rear end I can install, plus want to run wider wheels on the rear like in the picture down below. I know I do a mini-tub, and the spring re-location(which I just learned about).
other: bought steel to fabricate the engine/trans/K member removal "thing"! lol

In the late 60's-early 70's, my big brother was a gearhead with all of his buddies, and sifted through the car-de-jour on a regular basis. He wrecked his '57 Chevy and went to a Dodge Dart. It was black, with a 383 stroker, and the front suspension was solid rods (stiff) and nothing else. Wheelie bars out back, but driven on the street. Apparently the last guy used to drag it. The thing moved. Very mean car. He didn't have it long.

After that? '68 Camaro. I drove my friends to the prom in it... :D

Good choice, if you want to go V8. Price isn't too hideous, although as usual, when it comes to used engines "ran when I pulled it" doesn't mean much =P

while the 340 would give you bragging rights
that light of car I would think a 318 with a 4BBL would be fine

If the engine looks like this, I could live with that. I can put in on an engine stand, run it, compression test, etc. I'd like to at least give it a shot. Not so sure about going with the standard transmission, but I would have it; use it or sell it. The engine is coming out of a '70 Barracuda, the shop he's having do the work is located in Dallas, a well known classic car shop, high end. So, I'm rather excited, but will proceed with caution;)

    this is the engine

FWIW, in my opinion, the 340 was the best small block LA engine that Mopar ever built, and hotrods have three pedals, so do with that what you will =P
