Oneida Dust Deputy

When I was setting up my sand blasting cabinet, watched Youtube videos about dust collection. Bought the Oneida to use on the cabinet. I was surprised how this thing collected all the fine dust and the blast media. Was using a fine media and the vacuum pulled a lot of it out. The dust collector would be full and the shop vacuum would be empty. I put the cabinet away when done and used the Oneida when cleaning up the garage. I had a shop vac, then a short hose to the dust collector, then a hose picking up debris on the floor.

Here is a picture inside the shop vacuum when done. The dust collector fell over several time so some debris went into the vac.



What shop vac filters cost and they will clog up when cleaning up fine dust. I figure you can pay the Oneida Dust Collector off in a couple years and it will help the life of the shop vac.

 

Now you have me thinking. I cobbled this mess together 15 years ago using an Econoline hopper and filter. I pull a lot of fine dust over, and when I am blasting parts with much oil residue, it starts plugging up the filter. For the price of a filter, I could buy a cyclone. Maybe next winter, HA!
