I carry a bottle jack in every vehice. As John mentioned, some chain and a stout bumper will straighten most bent steering gear, etc. I carry two 3 ft chains of 5/16 links about 3 ft long. Hooks on each end. Many uses from locking something up, use with jack, use to wrap around an axle when there is no tow point, pulling fence posts with Handyman Jack, wrapping around four concrete stakes for an anchor point.

    You betcha!

I'd caution that 5/16" chain is something I want a hi-test rating on, like Grade 70. I've broken many "proof-coil" chains.

I just picked up a 2 ton 'Big Red' from Amazon for about $15. I was planning to use it to force a rear control arm down. Finally decided to just remove the shock and work around the spring.
