I found a 3/16" OEM brake line on my Ford that seems to be a regular "double flare" on one end, but a "bubble" flare on the other. I often make double flares but have never dealt with a bubble type.

The bubble looks a lot like a half-finished double flare. Off the record, can I make a bubba bubble with my double flare tool kit, or does it require unique tools?

Are you able to source a tube with bubble ends then make it to size with a flare on one end?

I replaced the entire line, and eliminated the union with the bubble.

But I've seen it said that a bubble end can be made with a double flare kit. Wondered if that is legit.

It’s legit. 90% of the flares on my jeep are bubble, and that’s how I made them. Zero issues.

X2, I made several for my old BMW 2002 the same way and never had any issues.

They’re sooooo much easier, and a lot less leak-prone. I questioned why a double-flare even exists after that process.

One source I read claims that double flare will hold higher pressures than bubble type.

You know how a double flare is two steps? Stop after step one.
