I can't understand why early Bronco's bring 3 to 4 times what a CJ5 brings. I guess it's a good thing if you're buying a CJ but sucks when you're trying to sell!

What a great birthday present for a hedge fund manager's wife!
"Here honey, a little something to drive around the beach cottage."

Actually the price is pretty reasonable considering what I see them going for around L.A.

By this pricing, my nephew's unmolested '66 Bronco must be worth $250K

Some 220 couple thousand units ( all Broncos early-late) vs. over 600k for Jeeps Cj5's

    Wouldn't you like to believe?
The folks buying these want them pristine. There are several running around The OC, including an Icon which I think went for over 200K.
The OO's (old originals) go for 40 to 60k, depending on degree of molestation. The OO Bronco folks don't want patina, they want a spit-shined spit in the eye to the New Bronco crowd.

Nice, but it's really a toy for someone. I will never have enough disposable income to spend that much on a hobby.

Even the crap Broncos go for $15k-$25k for something drivable and usable. A friend of mine is into broncos and I've looked at a good few 1st and 2nd gens, and they're all grossly overpriced. I'm talking about 1st gens with completely rusted out rockers and floors that don't run listed and selling for $15K easily. It's ridiculous. Haven't found a single good mostly-complete 1st gen for under $10k, or 2nd for $6k. (Note that I said mostly-complete, not mostly-original.)
