I can’t see out of my 67 windshield because I’m too tall. Is the conversion to an intermediate (72-79) windshield frame the correct one? Will it buy me more space at the top? Right now I look directly into the wiper motor. If the correct conversion, I assume I can buy a repro frame for an intermediate jeep. So I need a frame, new glass, wiper motor and linkage, wiper cover, and seal. Is that it?

You want a last of the early cj5 (70) windshield frame With the curved upper glass edge but still have the proper angle.

Fireball posted a picture of his three cj5's windshields side by side when he had them all.

You can sort of see it in this picture of my inlaw's jeep

69-75 used that style windshield. You're going to need all the wiper stuff too.

If you do the conversion, I might be interested in your 67 windshield if reasonable. Might help offset the cost.

I am 6'1" and haven't noticed any problem seeing out of my 67 windshield, but one advantage of the swap you are considering, other than better visibility, is better wipers.

Is this available as aftermarket? Or do I need to find an old one?

Is this everything I need? https://www.facebook.com/marketplac...h&referral_code=null&referral_story_type=post

Says it’s a 67, that doesn’t seem right. Also, it says it has an automatic transmission. Can someone comment on what is really here? Axles, etc. I notice the steering and hanging pedals could have everything I need to upgrade my steering and brakes. Just thinking. If nothing else, it would provide some parts. I don’t even see shifters for the t-case.

That is a '72-75. Probably 72 or 73, but that is the windshield you want. But the windshield frames do tend to rust out along the bottom if they are stored outside.
You can tell it is an intermediate by the length of the frame, the type of steering column, the heater controls, and the 0's on the speedometer. Lots of good parts there.

Outstanding! Thank you. Why does he say auto trans. What would be behind a 304?

    That's a @timgr question, but I don't see a clutch pedal.

    T15 3 speed.
There are aftermarket ws frames available but the quality is not as good. At least on he one's I've seen, the metal is thinner than stock.

Sorry I forgot what seats you ended up using. You can gain 2” lower seating by using Bestop low backs, and if you change the seat brackets, another 1”

Looking at the Facbvook pictures, the dash says '73-75. I'd guess Daisy Yellow, which would rule out '75.

Looks like the orignal 304 V8 engine. No CJ-5 came with an automatic. However, I do not see a shifter nor a clutch pedal. These Jeeps can be converted to an automatic ... If an automatic and still 4WD, that would add to the parts value of the car. With some marketing, more than $600 worth there I'd guess, but parting it out would require time and effort.

Has a lot of good parts for early CJ upgrades. 11" Bendix drum brakes, Dana 30 open knuckle front axle, Saginaw steering with an easily adpated and desirable steering column, hanging pedals (but note comment above). Rear brakes provide cable-operated parking brake with a foot pedal, if you want that.

Boot for TC shifter may be peaking out in my enhanced pic.

Would look like that if in 2WD or 4WD low.
