I really like the 67, but a CJ7 (even with its flaws) would fit me better and have better steering and brakes. We’ll see. I agree though—it is cool!

Measures should be taken to make sure this owner doesn’t breed .

Is it truly uncomfortable to drive?

Yeah Glenn, it is. It’s really hard to work the clutch without hitting the steering wheel. I can’t see through the windshield, and, of course, it’s slow. It is very difficult to let it go because I know what I’ve done with the help of people on this board. This is the first vehicle I’ve ever rebuilt a transmission and transfer case. An excellent learning experience! That brings me to another sad point…I won’t be involved in this excellent, giving, small community. The people on here are so very nice despite hearing the same questions over and over. It’s easy to say “do a search.” People on here respond instead. I like that. Someone is always learning.

I haven't had an ECJ in 15 years. Hasn't stopped me from coming here.

I'm 5ft 8" and "fit" just about right so yeah, I can understand the dilemma. Bummer!

I’m 6’5”. I thought about changing the windshield, but I’d be throwing more money at it and it won’t change the drive. Someone is coming tomorrow to look. It may stay. I’m asking $9500, which is way high I know.

I'm 5'8" and about 175lb. My jeeps fit me fine.
My brother is 6'4" and cannot get in my jeeps. He has never tried to fit in the cj6. He has a 79 cj7 that he restored and it fits him fine.

Your Jeep is what I wanted to do with the old A1 project I sold. Just ran out of time and money for that project and traded up. I love the nood to the military roots with it being a capable off roader.
    Just a cool Jeep.

Some 40 years ago I traded my ‘81 CJ8for a 4X4 Ford Ranger in hindsight I should have kept it. But some 30 years later I found the need to fill that void with my current’77 CJ5 grant it, not a CJ8 nor could if I was to sell the 8 now would my current 5 bring the same money. But I have my ole girl now and she’s all I want.

Well, the 67 didn’t sell and I’m tired of people criticizing it. This guy asked me why in the world would you ruin it with a roll cage and why the gears were so noisy, why take the pill out, why put a full floater in it, on and on and on. Jeez. My wife has been telling me to keep it and get another, but I’m a money worrier. I think I will take her advice. I’ll be looking for an intermediate windshield and possibly a diesel conversion. I’M STAYING ON THE SITE! Woo hoo!

Same here. If/when my V6 bites the dust I’ll be looking at that Kubota diesel swap. Seems like a wonderful fit and there’s a reputable conversion kit available to take out a lot of the r&d.
