Well, my turn signals worked fine Thursday, but not today on my ride down to the Channel. No clicking sound.

When I got the Jeep, I laughed at the blinker because it sounded like an old '50's rotary switch type. It's burried way up behind the dash, but I located the 2 wires that come from it when I installed a separate indicator light on the dash that you could actually see.

I think I'll change it out to an old round GM type. I did this on all my British Sports Cars and on my Triumph MC because the Lucus ones blink "real" slow. I'll just cut the wires and hook up the new one.

Does this sound like the best solution?

My brake lights are intermittent so I'm getting A new chassis harness. Overkill is good on Jeeps.

james, check first if the blinkers start working if you slightly turn the ignition key back from the starter position (i presume counterclockwise).

i had intermittant signal probs all of a sudden and had about given up when i turned the ignition key back just a touch. the signals and the tach started working again.

it's just seemed to be a worn part at the acc. pole on my switch.

    perhaps?

Steve: Good point, but I have a brand new Flaming River tilt column and ignition switch. I'll try it before I start cuttin wires.

If you experienced the "Prince of Darkness" your Jeep should be a piece of cake.

Well, an update. Cooled off a bit this morning so I went out to check out the blinkers. NO POWER! Then I noticed my parking lights were not on when the light switch was pulled out 1/2 way--they used to.

Think I had better start looking for fuses.
