The great mystery to me is how the green Jeep pulling a boat got to that spot without leaving tire tracks...

Does anybody have a source for a new mirror? I have been looking everywhere, and can’t find one. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Try posting a WTB (Want to buy) in the classified section here on the forum. You would be amazed what other forum members have sitting on the shelf.

You might also try Barney's Jeep Parts, (740) 947-7030. He used to have some NOS rear view mirrors, and may still have some.

Cleaning out an old bookshelf and found the old 1970 Jeep Sales brochure I got from the Jeep dealer in Winston Salem in 1970.
When we traveled to the mountains to visit my grandmother, my father always stopped by the Jeep Dealership for me to see the new Jeeps. A great thrill, I was 8.

Dave, That is a brochure that I have never seen. That red CJ is a 462, you can see the decal on the rear quarter. The full-line shows a great snapshot in time!

I'm sure you don't want to sale the brochure, but it would be nice to see it posted on eWillys. Dave has a great collection, but I don't remember seeing this one. His email is D@deilers.com

Its interesting to see details on the CJ5’s. Both the red one and the white one w/camper have side reflectors on the hood, but still have the small amber front signal lights. The red CJ also still has the smaller Hall 701 tail lights. The red 462 (airborn #7) has the hood reflectors, but the large signal lights.
Lots of running changes detailed here!

Come on people, these are artist renderings, not historical records. Using these are good reference points but NOT historical accurate renderings for restoration purposes.

What is interesting though is that in putting together the above sales brochure, Kaiser used photos of Jeeps from several earlier model years, rather than just the 1970 model year. I believe that's what Donny was getting at.

Using older models in ads, brochures, even movies was SOP for the Jeep from the very beginning. That was simply something other manufacturers couldn't do with their annual styling changes. That strategy of no annual model changes is, I believe, why the Jeep brand is still alive today.

Carrying on this theme, a former coworker and friend of mine sent me this link a couple weeks ago to catalogued and scanned auto brochures. Lots of Jeep stuff. https://www.auto-brochures.com/jeep.html

Thanks for sharing that link. My 79 Golden Eagle matches the picture - except for the addition of a lot more rust.
