1970 Overhaul

    Neutral safety switch question. Are the two purple wires suppose to share the same post?
    I'm putting mine back together. I took this is a pic off a different jeep for reference. See the purple doubled up, leaving one post empty.
    edit: Or maybe this is wired to bypass neutral?

    It would seem that if the purple wires are doubled up on a single post then the neutral safety switch may be bypassed.
    It could have be rigged to be able to start in gear, that could be useful at select times but potentially dangerous too.

    OzFin. Yes, very helpful. That picture is great. My service manual wiring schematics are in rough shape.

    I have another wire I'm trying to chase down. I have a schematic, but cannot find this one in there.
    It is a short Black wire with yellow stripe, coming out of the main bundle, located inside/under the dash. Has the red crimp on the end.
    Could this be a ground to the dash ? This pic is looking up, inside the dash area under the steering.
